Google Trends for Websites and Google Ad Planner

Google-logo.gifYup, lots going on at Google Plex, they announced a new service called Trends for Websites and Google Ad Planner this week. Google Trends in the past only covered data on searched terms. The new Google Trends for Websites service lets see website traffic data over time as well as comparing traffic between different sites. The second and even more fascinating announcement, is the Google Ad Planner, a free product will allow online media buyers to identify web sites that match their desired target audiences. Google Ad Planner  is not publically available at the moment, we'll keep you abreast of this.

Advertisers generally use Hitwise, Comscore, Quantcast, and/or Compete. Google appears to be targeting the market, however, early indications show that the products are pale in comparison to the paid services.
